1. Stability – We focus on a stable environment, which means less downtime for a server on average. We are not a rolling release linux distribution.

2. Minimalistic Approach – Nakshatra Linux is trimmed to have only the dependencies that softwares need to function. It doesn’t install extra softwares or bloat as it doesn’t do dependency management on its own.

3. Security – Rolling releases include new softwares that might have bugs and vulnerabilities. Since we have a stability oriented approach in contrast to a rolling release, security is automatically enhanced.

4. Control – There is modularity in package management. i.e admins can remove or rollback a particular package or even blacklist a package or set of packages to prevent it from getting installed. This means more control over the system.

5. Lightweight – Nakshatra linux doesn’t have systemd as a bootup system which can act as a single point of failure. It currently uses the classical unix-like sysvinit boot style instead.

6. Cost Effective – Nakshatra linux is a cost-effective initiative to help IT businesses grow.
